PLANS IN FOR 867,000 SQ FT OF LOGISTICS / DISTRIBUTION SPACE AT MA6NITUDE

Magnitude Land LLP, a joint venture between Tritax Symmetry, the development arm of Tritax Big Box and NPLL, has submitted an outline planning application for a further 867,000 sq ft warehouse / distribution space at MA6NITUDE in Middlewich, Cheshire.

This application will enhance the range of accommodation available at the scheme and capitalise on the new Middlewich Eastern Bypass just off Junction 18 of the M6. This year will see the development of a new facility for sweet confectioner, Swizzels. with the first 158,000 sq ft of 458,000 sq ft being delivered imminently.

Magnitude Land is being advised by project team including Avison Youngs planning and EIA consultants, AEW Architects, civils and infrastructure specialist SGI, and Eddisons Highways consultants. Savills, B8RE and Legat Owen are joint agents for the scheme.

Speaking about the next phase of development at MA6NITUDE, David Nuttall, development director at Tritax Symmetry, commented: “We are gaining real momentum at MA6NITUDE with over 1.5million sq ft of accommodation either in for planning or approved. MA6NITUDE is well located to service both the North and the Midlands and we continue to see strong demand across a range of sectors for accommodation of this nature. It promises to be a busy year for the scheme, with further planning applications to follow in the coming months, as well as the delivery of Swizzels’ new building.”

Laura Day, associate at Avison Young, said: “Planning for employment development at this site was originally approved in 2008, however the proposals were approved in relation to the original Middlewich Eastern Bypass route which has since been superseded by a new road alignment approved in July 2019. This planning application will allow Magnitude Land to continue delivering important employment floorspace at MA6NITUDE.”

“Bob Nicholson, director at NPL, Ltd concluded: “The scheme is a proven location delivering employment space to serve the North West with capacity to deliver various units from 40,000 to over 600,000 sqft. Magnitude has gained real traction with forthcoming activities including the delivery of the Swizzels new manufacturing facility.”
