National logistics developer, db symmetry, lent a “neigh-bourly” hand this week, swapping sheds to save stables, for local horse riding centre charity, Ride High.
Mucking in on Wednesday at the Milton Keynes equestrian centre that supports disadvantaged children, the db symmetry team spent the day helping to renovate some of the 45 run-down pony stables. The team were tasked with cleaning, rubbing down walls and giving them a fresh lick of paint.
Speaking about the team’s volunteering day, Christian Matthews, director at db symmetry, commented:“It was a fantastic, tiring and rewarding day for the team, visibly making a difference at the stables, which in turn will support the charity’s ongoing tremendous service offered to the local community. We arrived home covered in muck and paint but satisfied that we could play a part in such an effective cause. Our thanks goes to Ride High for a very rewarding day meeting the children, volunteers and ponies.”
Ride High is a registered charity, that was set up nine years ago by Rachel Medill MBE which helps transform underprivileged children’s lives through interaction with the ponies – improving self-confidence, attitude and life prospects. The charity recently moved to the 37-acre central Milton Keynes Loughton site. Many local businesses have already lent a hand in transforming the centre but further donations and offers of help would be very much appreciated.”
Open to the public for riding lessons, liveries and parties, the equestrian centre’s profits all go towards supporting the 80 local children that visit every week.
