INFORM LAUNCHES EDUCATION COMMS TRAINING PROGRAMME

Updated: Jul 24, 2020

The education sector is very competitive with schools not only vying for pupil places but also having to deal with more testing issues like funding, staffing, parent relationships, pupil safety and bullying to name just a few.

With the rise of social media and the tabloid press interest in topics such as school uniforms, gender identification and data handling, schools can find themselves increasingly in the public eye - and not always for the right reasons.

We work with a number of educational establishments to help with PR, as communicating a school’s strengths to all of its stakeholders – parents, neighbours, local employers and families - is imperative in a social media age.

It’s fascinating work and as part of this we have launched a series of bespoke training programmes for education providers, to help navigate the often choppy waters of communications.

These are social, media and crisis communications sessions that can be delivered in small groups at the schools’ own premises or off-site. We take in the specific experiences of the attending delegates and outline how social and traditional media can be managed on a reactive and proactive basis to protect and develop your reputation.

With hands-on training and advice as well as tailored guidance to take away from each session, attendees are given insight into managing negative press enquiries, how to deal with difficult social media situations and an understanding of how to work with the press. We also deliver broadcast media training for leadership teams using state of the art recording facilities with our team of professionals who also work within the BBC and regional media.

Each session is tailored to suit the school’s individual requirements. They are prefect for all public-facing staff including head teachers and their deputies, teachers, admin staff, executive boards and Governors.

Inform’s media training sessions have a 100% positive feedback rating so if you would like to know more, please contact clare.coyne@informcomms.co.uk / 07947 735060.

“The training provided by Inform has been really excellent. The staff all found it very useful, informative and engaging. It was a really valuable day and we certainly now feel well equipped to manage any situations that may arise in the future.”
